Bongo Boys Art About Us

About Us:

"We" are a collaborative group put together to create and produce these delightful works (at least we think so...).  We are a very "fluid" company, each of us working with our interests and abilities, putting the needs of our families first.  By living by our priorities, we are challeninging ourselves to be content with our lives, thus living out what artwork we are creating.

In developing this company, I have chosen to change some old and not helpful beliefs and to choose new ones - such as daily living my choice to be happy and content, working on doing it no matter what happens around me.  The artwork I design comes from either my sense of delight, or my desire to focus on quality choices - happiness, peace, love, being non-judgemental.  It might sound a little "glib", but in reality it is life changing and quite deep.

This process I am in of changing my beliefs to lead a more effective and content life, and a more effective company, started with my autistic son, Brandon.  I have been incredibly blessed and challenged in the program I have been doing with him the last 6 years (see more about this program - the Son-rise program- on the Special Needs Page).  Brandon has benefitted tremendously - he has gone from severe, with little language, headbanging 300-500 times a day, to high functioning and delightful to be around !  I have also benefiitted greatly, as have many who have come in contact with Brandon and our program.  By working on my attitudes and beliefs, and in using the many techniques from the program, I am learning to make human interaction the most exciting game in town for Brandon, and in doing so, motivating him to come out of his world and into ours.  It's working for Brandon, it's working for me, and it's working for my 2 other equally as precious sons (sometimes they just don't know it yet!)

I have taken much delight in sharing this new journey with others - many receptive, some not. It has changed me, and my artwork.  I personally choose to work on art that shares hope, and challenges people to happiness and contentedness.

My hope is that some of these beliefs and choices come across in the artwork we create here at Bongo Boys.  It is from the heart and the spirit, and I hope that it blesses you up as much as it does us.

 Enjoy!  Marcie
